Essential item needed to survive in space

Water is needed to survive and for other tasks
3. food concentrate
Needed to prevent starvation
4. portable heating unit
If it was cold people could get sick and be miserable
5. first aid kit containing injection needles
Necessary when taking care of wounds and prevent spread of infections
6. a magnetic compass
If power was lost and things went bad, it provides a reliable sense of direction
7. stellar map of the moon's constellations
Can be used as a last resort emergency for navigation
8. parachute silk
Can be used as a blanket to keep warm
9. one case of dehydrated pet milk
If it goes into your pet, it can go into you!
10. two .45 calibre pistols
With ammo provide protection against other species

Can float around in it in space and keep items and people together

Could be used to guide people or keep them connected if in darkness
